Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, I am a true carioca da gema. Growing up in the marvellous city has not just shaped my identity; it has defined my vision.
I am a street photographer based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
My photography journey began in 2005 and lasted until 2008 at Ateliê da Imagem, where I immersed myself in the technical and creative aspects of photography and video.
Despite my technical background, I find the most profound lessons come from practice, walking Rio’s streets following the light.
Building on these experiences, I have also sought firsthand guidance and mentorship from veteran photographers, frequently attending landmark festivals such as Paraty em Foco.
These experiences fueled my research and focus on street photography.
Rio de Janeiro is always my inspiration, teaching me to write with light. I live for street photography, about recording “the strange and the unknown” (Daido Moriyama).
On the street, I find freedom in my gaze, using my camera to tell stories, capture emotion, create beauty, express grace, and offer critique, or simply better understand myself.
